The Major School Terry Fox Run

The Major School Terry Fox Run The 2013 Major School Terry Fox Run was amazing! This year the grade 4-6 class organized it. There was a huge, awesome pep rally, there was a video, a letter, a speech, even a Terry dance. The organizers of this pep rally were, Kylar Bazylinski, Julie Patton, Breanne Zunti, Quinn Zunti, and Emily Henderson. All of these students worked so hard to make this pep rally great. All of the kids practiced for two days to get ready. Three of the students made the Terry Dance, and they had a video of it on the school website. They explained to us how to do it at the pep rally. The students were awesome at what they were doing. They knew what to do, and where to go. It was amazing! Also at the end of the pep rally while all of the excited people were leaving, you could feel the excitement in the air that all of5 the people shared. The pep rally wasn’t the only thing happening. They had snacks at the school, and also there was a map to sign. The map even showed where Terry actually ran. At the snack station there was oranges, grapes, cookies, doughnuts, and all kinds of foods. They also had movies about Terry playing in some of the classrooms. There was also a water station halfway along the run, at first there were no cups! All the passing people had to squirt water into their mouth. The whole run was 6.5 km. I, personally, only ran halfway but it was still pretty tiring, you could feel the sweat dripping down your face, onto your shoulders, then down to your chest. Some of the kids and parents ran or walked the whole way. When people got back they looked tired, hot, and thirsty. You could see the sweat on their own faces. Some of the students stayed back to help with snacks, directing people to the right classrooms, telling them to sign the map, and making sure there were enough snacks for everyone. All of the snacks looked so good and you could almost taste them. Those students who helped were Emily Henderson and Julie Patton. These two girls worked really hard and were the first ones back at the school, but after all, none of this wouldhave been possible without the help of Ms. Reichert, the grade 4-6 ELA teacher, who is so proud of how the whole run turned out.
